Coming Soon to a White House Near You?

When McCain announced Palin as his running mate, I was pleased he picked a woman.  But, as I read up on this woman, I became uneasy.  The more I read, the more disturbed I become.

Today, I read this article:

Palin’s ‘Heretical’ Church: Censored Video the McCain Campaign Doesn’t Want you to See:

It includes some video that was banned (and removed) from You Tube for “inappropriate content”.  Reportedly, it has been put up again by another user.

What is inappropriate about documenting what some people believe?  Indeed, what is inappropriate about documenting the beliefs/doctrine of a church to which a potential vice president belongs?  We have heard all about Obama’s church…

Some quotes from the article (bold mine):

-Sarah Palin has every right to hold whatever religious views she chooses but, by the same token, the American people have every right to know what Palin’s religious beliefs are – especially to the extent that they may include the view that all other religious and philosophical views but her own are under the influence of demonic powers and that believing Christians must conquer the Earth and cleanse it of evil in this final generation.

In a TV report last night, the statement was made that Palin has said that she would not let her beliefs influence her decisions as vice president.  To back that up, her minister? said that he believed her and went on to say that it would not be like she would be quoting scripture in meetings…My question:  what does quoting scripture (or not) have to do with making decisions based on beliefs?

That does not prove or disprove anything to me.  Sure, maybe she won’t be quoting scripture, but one’s beliefs do inform one’s decisions and other actions (if one is living authentically).  To have a system of beliefs and then to set them aside when making decisions is hypocrisy.  To believe one thing and yet do another is to live unauthentically.

So, if she makes decisions based on her beliefs, she is authentic.  Then, we must deal with a leader with some scary (to me) beliefs.  On the other hand, if she sets her beliefs aside in order to make decisions as vice president, she becomes a hypocrite.  Either way, how can we trust her?

-From a standpoint of public policy it is significant that Third Wave doctrine teaches that their leaders are raising a generation of youth who will be imparted with supernatural powers and form a conquering Christian army.

-Third Wave doctrine is an example of an extreme religious exceptionalism – not only are all other religious and philosophical belief systems on Earth seen as invalid and under satanic influence, but Third Wave theology sees all competing branches, sects and denominations of Christianity, particularly other conservative Christians who refuse to join “the river” of these outpourings, as an obstacle to God’s divine will.

-On June 8, 2008 in the Wasilla Assembly of God, her church of over 25 years, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin declared United States military forces in Iraq to be “out on a task that is from God.”

-The American public has a right to know if Palin believes, as does the Third Wave movement in which her churches take part, that she has a divine mandate or “anointing” to do battle to purge those she views as evil from the world.

-Most Americans do not want an American jihad to conquer the world in the name of God let alone a global nuclear war. Judging from the churches Palin attends and from her public statements we have to take very seriously the prospect of having a Vice President, a heartbeat away from the United States presidency, who holds such apocalyptic goals.

Her church is reportedly part of “The New Apostolic Reformation” or “The Third Wave”.

Also given at the end of article, is this reference:

I think I will go read what that reference has to say…

Now I have heard Everything

I am in shock.  I just read this article:

Wasilla charged rape victims for their own forensic exams under Mayor Sarah Palin

Quote from article:

And according to an Alaskan news article in the local Wasilla paper in the year 2000, the City of Wasilla, under Mayor Palin, charged rape victims for their own forensic tests. Most Alaskan municipalities picked up the tab themselves, but not Wasilla, the article notes.

You see, the city of Wasilla, didn’t want to “burden” taxpayers with
having to support victims of rape. Yes, they were more interested in
lowering taxes. It would have cost the city between $5,000 and $14,000
a year to pay for the rape victims’ police medical exams. And if the
City of Wasilla, circa the year 2000, wants to go there in terms of
balancing rape vs, burdening taxpayers, you should know that each and
every Alaskan gets a check from the state government each year, it
contains their portion of that year’s oil revenues. The latest check, I
read, was for over $2,000. I think the citizens of Wasilla had the
money.

What???  As I commented to this article:  I am speechless.

What is Our Country Coming To?

Apparently the police feel threatened by bunches of young people…

This is getting scary.  More and more I see this country turning into a Police State.

Federal government involved in raids on protesters

Police State: Massive police raids on suspected protestors in Minneapolis

And a nun?

Police State RNC: A Nun and Eight Others Swept into Unmarked Van by Cops in Minnesota

And here is another one

Bet You Haven’t Seen Any of This on Mainstream News

On 25 July 2008, the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives had a hearing to discuss issues related to the impeachment of the president.

C-Span aired this hearing and you can hear it here. The above video is only one of 29 videos posted on the playlist by “cspander” (You Tube).

I have not seen any reporting of this on my local TV stations News programs…have you?

Many voices call for impeachment.  Yet, we are told by Ms. Pelosi that it is “off the table”.

I have heard that it is off the table because they have “more important things to do”…If you have a bull in the china cabinet, breaking all the china, what is more important than getting the bull out of the china cabinet?  Picking up the broken china?

I have heard that it is off the table because there could be a political backlash against the Democrats for impeaching the president…If the “We the People” elected them to do a job and they fail to do that job, would that not be grounds for political backlash?  If “We the People” elected them to represent us and they ignore our call to impeach, will that not create a political backlash?  Unless, of course, they are not really working for us…we just pay their salaries.  One more important point…do we want elected officials who are more worried about “political backlash” than doing the right thing?

I have heard it said that to impeach would be embarassing.  What?  What is more embarassing – to ignore what the rest of the world can clearly see or to do the right thing and clean up the mess?

I don’t know anymore.  The world seems to have gone insane.  Maybe it is just me.

Regrouping

I have begun to reorganize my categories (not done yet).

I have also begun sorting through drafts of posts I had just lying around. With my previous post (the one right before this one), I have begun to publish the ones I still agree with.

Hopefully, this “house-cleaning” will help me organize my thoughts and clear the deck for getting back to some writing. I do have a lot on my mind. I have finally begun to digest some of it.

This plan may already be working as I have just begun a new article (in draft)…it just needs a few finishing touches.

Apparently Some States Have Laws Against Stealing Someone’s Affections…

Some time ago, I saw on Dr. Phil where a woman was sued by her lover’s wife on the grounds of “stealing the man’s affections”. Now, I know it is painful to find out your spouse has been having an affair. And I definitely think it is wrong to steal…

But, I have a problem with this action and the law that makes it possible. I have long wondered about the logic in blaming “the other woman” for a husband’s affair. (I speak here from a woman’s point of view only for clarity, just reverse the roles as appropriate) It has long been my opinion that my husband is the one who made a contract with me and said vows to me. I believe he is the one who should be responsible for that contract and those vows. The other woman made no promises to me.

You are not “stealing affections” if they are given freely. Even if the other woman make the first move, the husband has a choice. He does not have to have an affair with her if he chooses not to. How can you steal something with a mind of its own? I assume men have minds of their own (big grin)…

Sometimes the “other woman” does not even know the husband is married. When I was single, I once dated a man for two weeks thinking he was single as well. He did not tell me. After one of his friends finally told me, I broke it off because I did not want any part of that.

It seems there are many who believe the other woman is the one who is destroying the marriage. Hmmm. I think the responsibility for the marriage lies with the two people who are married.

Spread Your Wings

Speaking of Les Visible

This song “Spread Your Wings” is by artist Les Visible. I found it awhile back during one of my surfing episodes. I was surfing on topics related to our current circumstances – war, climate change, tyranny, economic crisis, etc. Our problems are global, there is much to worry about for all of us. So, while surfing, I came across this article by Les Visible – “Lizards and Vultures and Swine…Oh My“. He so rightly reminds us that it is always darkest before the dawn.

He included a link to the page to find this song, where he states “This is something I believe in and I wish it for you every bit as much as I wish it for me. Make it happen.”

…it made me cry. The song expressed for me the bittersweet blend of soul weariness and heartache with hope of its release and faith in a new day – A hope for freedom, I hope it brings you the same.

Smoking Mirrors

I have been seeing articles by Les Visible on various sites I peruse. I have been extremely impressed with this writer’s ability to see reality and his eloquence in writing about what he sees. He seems a well-balanced individual and also writes and sings some impressive and inspiring songs.

So, I finally found some time to check out one of his blogs, “Smoking Mirrors” and am glad I did. I fully intend to read everything there.

For starters, you might try this article “Money, Honey… and Face Time in Your Dreams“.

He includes some resource links for news and a link to the video “Money as Debt“. This video animation explains (in layman’s terms) just how our money system works (or rather doesn’t). It is an eye-opener.

He talks about discernment of truth and of money’s influence on disinfo. He talks about discernment of truth based on what someone does versus what they said they would do. He calls us to look at our responsibility to discern truth and to find our principles.

The time of choice is at hand. What do you value? What do you know of what is happening in our world? Do you approve or do you disapprove? What do you need to do that is in accord to those values? Do you need more knowledge? Do you need to find your voice? Only you can answer those questions for yourself. Only you can choose the future you want to work towards.
