You Think I’m Joking…
I submit some more anecdotal evidence of Murphy’s Law:
I have my first arts and crafts show coming up tomorrow. I had begun getting ready last week – putting together my display equipment and inventory, etc. I started working on this last week, as I know that Murphy stalks me. Remember, with Murphy, you cannot appease him, you just have to try to work around him.
In fact, on Monday, I was nearly ready, I just needed to print out my patterns…, I tried and my printer decided to break down. I have had this printer for about 6 months now. It has not had any previous problems, it has worked just fine. Monday, with only a few days to go before the show, the printer refuses to work. Now, I had to take the time and return the printer to the store I bought it from. It cost me in gas and time. A minor problem in the grand scheme of things, I know. However, the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back was also a very small thing. The small things add up.
Tuesday, I took the printer back and tried to exchange it. Because it was more than 90 days since I bought the printer, they would not exchange it for me. So, I had to buy a new one – I really need a printer. I had to buy a new “improved” model because they have already discontinued the previous one.
Did I forget to mention, I had just bought an ink cartridge for the old printer just a few days before it broke down. Of course, that cartridge won’t work on the new printer. What a racket.
On the positive side, the new printer may actually be “improved”. It is working great, even a little faster than the previous one.
I hear so many people complain of boredom… Oh, how I wish for a year of boredom! Heck, I would be happy with a few months of boredom. I never seem to have time to get bored.
